To the family of Richard (Dick) Poppy, Please accept my condolence of sympathy over your loss. I started working at Sebewaing Industries in October of 1970 on production and eventually worked on die setting with him when I was able to bid on the die setting job. I worked with Dick for many years on die setting and learned a lot from him about the job that only he knew and also knew how to pass it along to me. Eventually I was able to become a class A die setter for many years and finally die set leader, the highest position in the classification, in large part because of Dick. I always enjoyed working with him and for him when he was leader before he retired. I only saw him in Unionville a few times at the Sunoco station after he retired and we would reminisce about those days at the shop. Again I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. With my deepest sympathy for your loss.
