One Very Special Friend
I could live without a lot of things,
but my peace and joy depended
on the comfort and encouragement
of one very special friend...
My friend who was kind, forgiving,
and who made me laugh a lot,
who liked me when I'm likable
and even when I'm not...
Who knew when I needed company
or wanted to be alone,
who listened when I had to talk
eight hours on the phone...
An understanding person
I knew I could be me with,
the loving, caring, daring, friend
I felt so safe and free with,
the comfortable companion
that was always great to be with!
