Many prayers to the Klapish family. I knew Tim in high school and college and was saddened to hear of the passing of such a kind soul. He was someone who always put a smile on your face and was at the ready for the next fun prank. He left us too soon but will be remembered by all who knew him. My deepest sympathy, Gretchen Grube

To our Klapish family:
We are so sorry for your great and sudden loss. We loved Tim too.
For me, the Klapish family: the WAY "Bob and Sally", John, Tim, and Tammy welcomed me into their house as Bob's friend from the south end, made an everlasting impact on my life. This family was both regular and outstanding in every way; it was what I wanted my family to be someday. Some 35+ years later, we are still getting warmer. Tim was not just a bystander back then, but he promoted the concepts of pride, honor, dignity, team. I remember understanding why everybody loved him all those years ago; wanting to be like him; all his friends and teammates from BCC and Regas from Albion that would pass through the Fleming kitchen on 7th Street.
Our hearts are broken, but our love never ends.

My heart goes out to Patti, Chloe and Cade and all of Tim's family. Please know that you are each in my prayers and are held in the light in this time of sadness. I had the priviledge of working with Tim at GSK and knew Tim as a kind, gracious, and caring person. Tim always had a positive attitude even in times of adversity and believed we were blessed to be able to help others. He will be missed.

I had the privilege of knowing Tim for the past 28 years. Starting out as pharmaceutical sales representatives together in Michigan in the late 1980's, we shared many meetings and business trips together, some to amazing locations like, Hawaii, Key West, Maui, and New Orleans. Our district had a "work hard, play hard" motto, and Tim was passionate about working hard and having fun. He was always engaged with others. Whether talking about a new business plan, or one of his favorite sports teams, Tim was having the time of his life.
My wife and I had the pleasure of getting to know Tim and, Patti better on extended business trips to Maui and Key West. Tim was easy going, fun. He was a coffee, oatmeal, & fresh fruit for breakfast kind of guy. In Key West, we enjoyed walks down Duval Street, past the art galleries, the gift shops. He would stop and listen if a Jimmy Buffett song was being played live in one of open air bars. For dinner, Tim liked seafood, especially Sushi, with a cold beer. He liked to people watch, soak in the atmosphere, and feel the climate of a new place. He appreciated life and found beauty in many things..
During the early 1990's, I would enjoy quick reunions with Tim in Chicago, Milwaukee, or at one of the National Meetings. And then, once again have the pleasure of working just a few doors down, in Research Triangle Park. Tim was dependable, responsible, and hard working. No matter what the task, he was always very positive, and committed to doing his best, for others, and for the company.
In more recent times, my wife, Anne and I, would often run into Tim at the North Raleigh Whole Foods store, or our local Starbucks. My wife, Anne would excitedly say, "Sweet T" is here! She created this affectionate nickname for Tim years ago, by combining the favorite southern beverage of "Sweet Tea", and "T" for Tim. To Anne, Tim WAS "Sweet T" because he was always so sweet, to her. Tim would usually hear Anne's voice first and then see her coming. He would break into a big, welcoming smile. Catching up on family, he would ask us about our girls, and beam with pride when talking about Chloe and Cade.
I am grateful for the many things around our home that will keep Tim's memory alive. The Rembrandt self portrait on our wall, the Pete Maravich, Jordan basketball cards, and the Lahaina Fish Company mug from the night that Anne and I had dinner with Tim and Patti in Maui. We are going to miss Tim's generosity and spirit. We will continue to feel his presence as we visit the places that he loved in Raleigh. And when we think of Tim, we will find comfort in this poem by Mary Elizabeth Frye.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Patti, Chloe and Cade;
My heart sank when I heard the news about Tim. I am thinking about the four of you. Know that Joe and I stand by to assist in any way. I will always remember Tim as a kind and generous person. I see these two words continue to surface and they truly describe Tim. It was in 2001 that Tim met Joe for dinner to discuss employment with GSK. At the conclusion of dinner, Tim insisted that Joe bring home dessert for me. Tim had not even met me yet but this is an example of how thoughtful and generous he was. There are plenty of stories like this; that was just Tim. We will cherish our memories of Tim.

Dear Klapish Family,
I am deeply saddened by the sudden loss of brother Tim. "Klem" was my pledge son at Albion and I was sincerely honored to be chosen by him to be his pledge father. He was a fine man in every sense of the word. Always with a big smile, and a friendly, positive attitude. A man who always put others 1st. I am blessed to have known him and called him "friend". We take comfort knowing that as a child of God he is home with our Father in Heaven. One day we will dance and celebrate with him on the streets of gold. My prayers for you all. In Christ,
Martin (Mitt) Hoffmeister

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We were extremely saddened to hear of Tim's passing. It has been years since I have crossed paths with Klem, but that picture in the obituary brings back great memories of what a wonderful person he was and an awesome family you all are! Tim was always so full of life.
Anytime I was greeted by Tim--you could always count on a firm handshake, a look in the eye and his wonderful smile! And as for that matter--It must be a Klapish trait, because you all display that unique characteristic.
May God Bless you all!
May the choirs of angels come to greet you.
May they speed you to paradise.
May the Lord enfold you, in his mercy.
May you find eternal life."

Patti,
I shall always remember Tim. He was a friend of mine. As you know, Tim was always there for me and vice versa, on and off work with support, listening and guidance for each other. I would not be as good a person in life without my having known him. It always brings a smile to my face when I think back to '92 and Tim rode with me in Hoboken, NJ after sales training, or when we would spend a evening on your back porch in NC. Marissa still has the crystal star on her desk that Tim gave her. Please let the children know how wonderful their Dad was. God Bless Tim (Klem) Klapish.

Patti, Chloe and Cade,
We are all thinking about you during this inconceivable time. I will always think of Tim with his smiling, gentle, generous attitude. He always went out of his way to make other people feel good by the things he said and did. He always had a nice word to say and was forever giving the kids little thoughtful gifts. (liked framed baseball/hockey photos) and taking them to sporting events. It was always nice to see his kind face alongside his family at the kids' activities like baseball games, band concerts, graduations, etc.
I am only glad that the rest of you made it "back home" to Michigan to be with Tim full- time for a little while and now have lots of loving family surrounding you. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Chris, Don, Josh and Lauren McCorquodale

35 years ago I played football at Albion College with Tim. Klem as he was called was the left tackle and I was the right tackle. He was a strong powerful man with a great team first attitude. His teammates loved him. Every year he would cut off that big mop of hair he had and report to camp with a buzz cut.
Off the field he was gentle and kind, always smiling and always positive. He was a one of the good guys, an old soul who will be missed.
To Bob and the whole Klapish Family he truly was a great guy.

Patti, Chloé & Cade,
We were deeply saddened by the news of Tim's passing and hope you find the strength that will carry you through these tragic times to which you are faced upon. The Klapish family were a part of our neighborhood and we saw our girls grow-up together. I often saw Tim & Cade playing catch in the front lawn and he was always such a gentleman to everyone. No one expected he would leave the world so quickly but take comfort in believing that he will be there watching over you. Always. We will miss you Tim....
