Obituary of Shane Daniel Abbe

Shane Daniel Abbe lost his nearly life-long battle with opioid addiction on Sunday May 23, 2021 in Freeland, MI. Shane was 28-years old, he was born November 1, 1992 to LeeAnn Allbee and Daniel Abbe. He was a 2011 graduate of Meridian High School, and continued his education to receive a welding certificate. Shane touched our lives with his big heart, big hugs, bright mind, infectious smile and humor. He was an all-around athlete, with a passion for golf and a strong ambition to win. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Shane’s indomitable spirit encouraged his family to persist in the face of many struggles, and he will be missed immensely. Shane is survived by his mother, LeeAnn Allbee (Bob) and his father, Daniel Abbe (Shelly); his brother, Michael Abbe (Amanda); his twin sister, Stephanie Beaulieu (Justin); and nieces and nephews. A Celebration Life will be held at 11:00 AM, June 11, 2021 at Floyd Church of God, 1015 W. Chippewa River Road, Midland MI 48640 followed by a luncheon. The family will receive friends at church prior to the service from 9:00 AM – 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions toward a celebration of life tree, as the family has adopted a park in Shane’s honor.
