Obituary of Sherman Robert Bingle

Bingle, Sherman R. Whittemore, Michigan Sherman R. Bingle of Whittemore, Michigan passed away Saturday May 8th, 2021 at the age of 91. He was born on April 9th 1930 to the late Sherman H and Leila Bingle in Mt. Clemens, MI. Sherman, known to family and friends as "Bob", joined the Air Force at 17 and retired in 1968 after returning home from an all expenses paid tour of Vietnam. He rose to the rank of TSgt and after 21 years 1 month and 2 days of service went looking for work in the civilian world. This landed him in a 25 year career at Saginaw Steering Gear where he made the 120 mile round trip daily with his carpool buds. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, camping and taking road trips across the country with family. Bob is survived by his children Robert (Ruth), Susan, Gary (Barb), and Sherman C. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Jerry Dorcey, grandchildren Cassie, Bryan, Bobby (Amanda), Chrissy (Sam), Sherman M, Brandy, Bailey, and great grandchildren Kylie, Maci, Lilli, Blair, and Emerson. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lillian and his siblings Mary, Katherine, and Chuck. Plans for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
