Obituary of Robert George Niederstadt

Niederstadt, Robert G. Saginaw, MI Robert Niederstadt went to be with the Lord, peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, March 29th, 2021 at the age of 82. He was born on October 13, 1938 to the late Frank Benoit and Bonnie Jean (Hill) Niederstadt in Saginaw, Michigan. Robert grew up with 8 siblings in Saginaw. He served in the United States Navy for 9 years where he was an Airedale, and was a proud co-owner of ABC/ASI in Freeland. Robert and his wife, Sue, loved to travel. Together, they spent 5½ years on the road traveling from state to state. He worked his way through, servicing grain dryers. Robert had the gift of the pen. He wrote poems to his wife every morning and hung them on the coffee pot signed by “C. Potts.” At one point, he even wrote a children’s book. One of his great passions was golf, and he was a member of Bay Valley Golf Club. While he didn’t mind teaching others the rules and etiquette of the game, learning how to do the “birdie dance” was a must. He also excelled at bowling, and enjoyed the camaraderie that goes along with it. Robert loved hanging out and spending time with his family, especially the great grandkids. He always had a smile and something insightful to say. He gave his family encouragement and support, had a great attitude and the best sense of humor. Robert took us on adventures, played games and helped us all to enjoy our lives. Robert is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sue (Rhule) Niederstadt; 5 children, Robert Niederstadt, Jr. (Laura), Kimberly Knoll (Tom), Lisa Barnett (Robert), Kari Gomez and Jill Niederstadt; five grandchildren, Josh Knoll (Kristin), Tania Leachman (Zach), Vanessa Gomez (Bryan), Jordan Knoll, and April Miller (Rodney); and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Benjamin Franklin Niederstadt; parents; friends; and siblings. We are having a Celebration of Life Picnic on Father's Day-June 20, 2021 at Roethke Park, 400 Leddy Road, Saginaw MI 48609 at 2:00 p.m., Pavilion 2 by the pond.
