Joseph, age 83, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021. He was born in Wyandotte Michigan, July 15, 1937 to the late Thomas O. and Mary C. (Doute) Malenfant. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Real Estate Broker for many years. He was a long-time member of the Lion’s Club, a life-long member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, and was a firefighter for many years. He married the former Judith A. Nalazek and they shared 47 years of marriage.
He is survived by his children, Joseph (Shari) Malenfant Jr., Julie (Richard) Henderson, and John Malenfant, all of Bay City; 5 grandchildren, Deanna Hay, Joseph Malenfant III, Mandy Bell, Kristy Reminder, and Kayliene Eschenbacher; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, David (Janice) Malenfant, Timothy Malenfant, and Steven Malenfant; 3 sisters, Mary Lou Swanton, Julieann (Robert) Hamilton, and Susan Malenfant; sisters-in-law, Irene Melby and Rosemary Rikle;many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Judy Malenfant on March 21, 2008; sister, Kathleen Malenfant; and special friend, Jean A. Weber.
Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at All Saints Parish ~ St. Boniface Catholic Church, 500 N. Lincoln Ave., Bay City Michigan. Fr. Jose M. Cabrera, Pastor, will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by the Bay County Veteran’s Council.
