Mary Lou passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the age of 89, with her family at her side. She was born August 28, 1929 In Kingsley Michigan. She was a lifelong Bay City resident and member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Bay City Garden Club for many years and had worked as an operator at Michigan Bell Telephone. Although she enjoyed knitting, sewing, and painting on both wood and canvas, her life was her family, always excited and anxious to be involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities.
She is survived by her 5 children, Robert (Debra) Greenlaef of Davenport FL, Steven (Terri) Greenleaf of Holiday FL, Michael (Shelly) Greenleaf of Florida, Denise (Donald) Middleton of Bay City, Shelly (Richard) Miller of Kinde MI; 17 grandchildren, Jennifer Jo (Michael) Newmark, Christopher (April) Greenleaf, Jeremy (Justine) Greenleaf, Eric (Samantha) Greenleaf, Shannon Layton, Michael (Stephanie) Greenleaf, Donald (Rachael) Middleton, Ryan (Stephanie) Middleton, Amy (Charlie) Middleton, Jon Middleton, Katie Middleton, Hayley (Doug) Middleton, Pamela (Jeremie) Middleton, Danny Middleton, Christopher (Heather) Miller, Steven (Kristie) Miller, Heather (Thomas) Hoff; 38 great-grandchildren; proud grandmother of many foster children; many near and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband Harry on September 19, 1991; grandson, Tracey Greenleaf in 1974; her parents, Henry and Emmeretta (Halliday) MacLennan, and sister, Catherine Itter.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 815 Grant Street, Bay City Michigan (corner of Center Ave and Grant St.). Rev. Susan C. Rich will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home from 12 Noon to 8 PM and at church prior to the service from 11 AM – 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to McLaren Hospice or Trinity Episcopal Church Altar Guild or Friends of Music.
