Mary,
Our paths only crossed a handful of times, but it was enough for you to leave a big impression on me. I so enjoyed your wit, your humor, your big heart ... I can still hear your infectious laugh. You were someone I really enjoyed being around and talking to. I thought you were so special. I am so sorry to hear of your passing. You were truly a unique soul. I'm grateful to have known you. Rest in peace sweet lady.
To Mary's family, I am so sorry for your grief and am wishing you peace in this difficult time.
-Lyndsay

Dear Family and Friends,
You all know that I loved Mary as a close friend growing up in the Birney St. neighborhood. Mary always made me laugh. We had lots of fun around the kitchen table laughing and at sleep overs. I was saddened to hear of her passing. She was a big part of my childhood and I will think back fondly of those years. I remember we did a science project together at Hughes School. We were standing next to the teacher when he made a derisive comment about "that pile of mud" and who did it belong to? (We had forgotten to put our names on it.) Mary grabbed and shushed me. So then we ran home on our lunch hour. With the help of her Mom, Joyce, we made a second Science Project - this one about the "5 Senses". We broke a wine glass to show the sense of touch, dipped a cotton ball in perfume, etc. We took that project back to school and got a decent grade after all. Good memories have been floating back. She was a lovely, caring person who is now at peace. XOX~ Pat Rehmus Sand

I spent just about every day with Mary for the past 23 years. Mary called me forty minutes before the accident happened asking if I could pick her up at 9:30. I said I had to work and would pick her up at 2:10. I couldn't wait to get off work to pick up Mary and we would go out. We had many fun times together. Mary loved smoothies and just about every day we would go to the Cone Corral and get Mary a smoothie. Mary thought the Cone Corral made the best smoothies. Tom Dockery

Mary and the Cavanughs were our next door neighbors in my formative years. Mary was ever kind and full of laughter. She would draw me pictures of a feme fatale in a long dress with a cigarette holder when I cried as a kid to cheer me up. And later in high school she was still that girl. Much later Mom always enjoyed seeing her on a visit.
My condolences and sorrow to Ann, Tisha and Bob.
Thanks for the best memories - Susan Scharbach

I was a few years older than Mary at Garber, but got to know her better when we worked together at the Sub Deb shop in Bay City. I so enjoyed spending time with her. I think Penny described it perfectly when she talked about Mary's spirited laughter. That is what I remember...her beautiful smile, her stylish clothes and that wonderful laugh. We had a lot of talks and a lot of giggles together. I am very sorry to hear about her passing and send my condolences to the family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
