Mike was a really GOOD friend way back in high school. Garber, like many schools, was made up of many "cliques". Mike and a few of us other guys didn't seem to (or really even want to) fit into those groups. We just ended up making our own group. We stayed as a group for most of high school then kind of drifted apart. Many years later some of us reconnected. We tried to find Mike but couldn't. We heard he was taking care of his dad at their family home in Essexville and made many attempts to reach him there. No one ever answered the door. After awhile I gave up. For that I am very sorry. What's the saying... you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. Well in this case what we lost was a very good man, Mike. Miss you brother. Peace. Dan

Mike was a dear and gentle soul. I enjoyed his conversations about Essexville and history in general. I and others worried about him a lot. I gave him some warm coats when I saw he needed them. He loved to sit in his van and I often saw him in it when he needed a smoke. There's an empty spot there now. I will miss his kind face and his mellow mood.

I met Mike in 1989 and worked along side him as a platemaker at Mckay. Mike taught me a lot about film/plates and his attention to detail was impeccable. We became friends and would share daily conversations about life. We worked together until 2002 when I moved to another company. Mike and I had a chance to work together again a few years later at my new company and we were reacquainted as friends. At the time he was living in his families basement. Mike spoke often about this girls and how he missed them. I am going to miss Mike. May you rise up and meet your maker with your head high Mike. Your struggles on on Earth are done. God Speed my friend.
