Obituary of James "Mike" M. McWilliams

McWilliams, James "Mike" Byron, Michigan Mr. McWilliams, age 73, died on Tuesday September 5, 2017. James Michael was born in Dowagiac, Michigan on April 22, 1944 to the late Ralph and Madeline (Hamilton) McWilliams. He has lived in Byron since 1971 and attended Byron United Methodist Church. He married the former Susan K. Johnson in Byron on January 29, 2011. He retired from V-8 engine after 32 years of service. Mr. McWilliams is survived by his wife Susan, his 2 sons: Joseph (Penny) McWilliams of Burton and James (Jeanette) McWilliams of Bancroft. Also surviving are 4 step children: David Hottois of Byron, Todd (Susan) Hottois of Byron, Janet (Dennis) Shettler of Byron, Julie (Douglas) Nelson of Byron, 4 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren, his brother Charles A. McWilliams of Dublin, Georgia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Frances "Fran" (Rivard) McWilliams on October 7, 2009 and his sister Rosemary Hill. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday September 9, 2017 at the Byron First United Methodist Church, 101 S. Ann Street, Byron. Robert Whitehead will officiate. Burial will follow in Byron Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
