Sayles, Henry J. "Hank" Perry, MI Henry, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. He was born in Bennington Township Michigan on March 16, 1931 to the late Charles and Olga (Hibbard) Sayles. He was a lifelong Shiawassee County resident, and graduated from Morrice High School in 1950. He married Shirley Service on September 26, 1952 at Perry Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the Perry Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years and had served on their church board. He was also active in the community with Farm Bureau, DFA, and was an FFA member. He received the state FFA Farmer's Degree in 1950, was FFA President 1949-1950, and was a Sophmore Class Officer. He was a licensed electrician with Service Electric for several years. He was a dairy farmer his entire life, operating the Braden Road farm together with his wife Shirley. He and Shirley were married for 64 years, and had three children and two grandchildren who shared his love of the farm and created memories with him there. He enjoyed farming, spending time outside on his tractor, working in his shop, & attending auctions. His greatest love was of family and spending time with them. He especially cherished the time spent teaching his grandchildren about cattle, driving and operating farm implements, and repairing equipment. He is survived by his wife Shirley; children, Charles and Diane Sayles both of Perry, Mark (Mary ) Sayles of Bay City and Owosso; grandchildren, Grace and Jonathan Sayles; sister, Dorothy (Robert) Ware of Owosso; sisters in law, Patricia (Robert) Chapman of Perry and Nancy (Earl) Hardyman of Howell; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard and wife Hilda Sayles and his sister Frances and husband George Michalek. A funeral service will be held at Perry Church of the Nazarene, 3100 Ellsworth Rd. (at M-52), Perry MI, on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Pastor Tim Harmon, Msgr. George Michalek , and Rev. Earl Ray Hardyman will officiate with burial following in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the family Sesquicentennial Farm (in the photography studio) on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 4PM- 8PM and on Wednesday from 12 Noon to 8 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday morning at church from 9:30 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Perry FFA, Perry Church of the Nazarene, or the Wishes of the Family.
