Obituary of Scott R. Douglas

Douglas, Scott R. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Douglas, age 76, died on Tuesday May 3, 2016. Scott was born in Bay City on June 10, 1939 to the late Robert and Virginia (O'Toole) Douglas. He married the former Corinne Jeske on December 19, 1959 in Charleston, SC. Scott served his county in the US Navy from 1958 to 1962. He was a member of American Legion Harding-Olk-Craidge Post #18,Polish Legion of American Veteran's, Bay City Post #162, BOPE #88, FOE Aerie #1010, and a Life member of K of C Council #414. Scott was a firefighter for the City of Bay City from January 7, 1968 until he retired on October 22, 1995 after 27 years of service. Mr. Douglas is survived by his wife Corinne, their 3 children; Mark (Sharon) Douglas of Troy, Kim (Paul) Weber of Bay City and Kevin (Debbie) Douglas of Bay City. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; Robert, Stephen and Laura Douglas, Gregory, Kyle and Lauren Weber, 2 great grandchildren; Olivia and Avery Douglas, 2 step sisters; Cindy Cotter of Bay City and Martha (Scott) Sturm of Bay City and his spoiled companion Raz. He was preceded in death by his brother John Douglas. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday May 9, 2016 at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish, (St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church) 614 Pine Street, Essexville. Father Dale Orlik will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Hyatt-Ewald Funeral Home, Bay City on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly at a later date.
