"Mother-Trucker-Biker"
2/22/52 10/6/15
Debra, age 63, passed away on October 6, 2015 at her daughters residence after suffering from end stage COPD. Debra graduated from Bay City Central High School in the class of 1970. In her early career Debra enjoyed being a sales person, selling anything from waterbeds to Tupperware. In 1989 she decided to become a Commercial Truck Driver. After receiving several safety awards and maintaining an excellent driving record, Debra became a truck driving instructor. After 20 years in the trucking industry, Debra retired and spent her leisure time riding her Harley-Davidson and learning to sew. She became an avid quilter and created many beautiful quilts. In her later years, Debra enjoyed designing and quilting unique patterns while watching over her "grand-dogs".
Debra is survived by her two daughters, Melissa Spannagel and Rebecca Spannagel; her mother, Elgie Zerod; two sisters, Di and Kitty; three brothers, Wally (Shirley) Zerod, PJ Zerod, and Patrick Zerod. She was predeceased by her father, Walter H Zerod.
