Obituary of Joyce M. Cavanaugh

Cavanaugh, Joyce M. Bay City, MI (formerly of Suttons Bay MI) Joyce M (Grills) Cavanaugh, age 86, born December 1, 1928, recently passed away. She is the daughter of the late Louis and Teresa Grills. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Saginaw, Michigan. She earned a teaching degree and later a Masters in Library Science from the University of Michigan. Joyce taught elementary school and then became a high school librarian in Suttons Bay Michigan with a career that spanned 20 years. She established the first high school computer program in Suttons Bay, served as a Suttons Bay Library Board member, and on the county commission board. Beyond her interest in reading Joyce's likes included real estate/home renovation projects, history, politics, music, art, gardening, animals and travel. Joyce raised 4 daughters, Mary Cavanaugh, Anne Cavanaugh, Patricia Cavanaugh Robb and was predeceased by her daughter Cathleen Cavanaugh. Also surviving are her brothers Ray (Lucy) Grills, Terry (Diane) Grills and sister Connie Smith. She was predeceased by her brother Dick Grills. Joyce was interred at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Bay City Michigan.
