Peg our loving mother, age 80, died Sunday February 1, 2015. Phyllis was born in St. Louis, Michigan on April 8, 1934 to the late L.J. and Myrtle (Good) Gould. Peg worked for Bay Medical Care Facility, Essexville, Owned and operated with her husband "Longs Big Olaf" Ice Cream Shop in East Tawas. She also worked for Windjammer gifts in East Tawas, and TCBY in East Tawas and Midland. Peg was a member of Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Long is survived by her 3 daughters; Denise (Stephen) Bennett of Chambersburg, PA, Kimberly Long of Bay City and Kelly Long-Schneider of Saginaw. Also surviving are 3 stepdaughters and a stepson; Connie Miller of Bay City, Richard Long of Manistee, Patrice Long of Jacksonville, Florida and Carolyn Dunkirk of West Branch, 2 grandchildren; Heather (Toseland) Wright of Calgary, Alberta Canada and Brady Schneider of Saginaw, 8 step grandchildren; Denee' (Timothy) Reder of Bay City, Scott Miller of Bay City, Leslie Batschke of Bay City, Matthew (Kelly) Long, of Centerline, Michigan, Amanda (Keith) Jenkins of Jennings, Michigan, Christopher Baker of Colorado, Lisa (Craig) Martens of Bay City and Annette Long of Arkansas, 17 great grandchildren, son in law Harold Miller, 2 sisters and 2 brothers; Janet Marr of Mt. Pleasant, Gwendolyn Harris of Alpharetta, Georgia, Gary Michael (Carolyn) Gould of Kawkawlin and Mark Gould of Bay City, brother in law Donald Holton of Sterling and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Calvin Long, son in law William Schneider, sister LaJune Holton, 2 brothers in law Walter Marr and Richard Harris. A life celebration service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday February 7, 2015 at the Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene, 1815 Tittabawassee Road, Saginaw. Pastor Randy Owens will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
