Byron, Michigan Mrs. Schmidt, age 89, died on Thursday May 10, 2012. Frances Elizabeth was born to the late Joseph & Lucy Heniger Petty on September 5, 1922, in Marion, Virginia. She married Richard Dick Schmidt on May 22, 1944, in Marion, Virginia. They then moved to Michigan, where she and Dick made a life together dairy farming. Mrs. Schmidt is survived by a son, Dwight (Becky) Schmidt of Byron, and a daughter, Beverly (Dan) Wolff of Howell. Also surviving are six wonderful grandchildren, April, Jamie, Amanda, Rick Dwight & Becky, Christopher and Jason Bev & Dan. Frances was also blessed with 8 great-grandchildren. Frances was a loving wife, mother, and doting grandmother and will be missed by her children and grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and her grandson, Rick. A memorial luncheon will be held from 12:00 until 3:30 P.M. on Sunday May 27, 2012 at the Byron First United Methodist Church, 101 S. Ann Street, Byron.
