Sue Arlene Weber-Pobanz, age 80, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024. She was born April 4, 1943 in Bay City, Michigan to the late John and Dorathea (Bebb) Gerhardt. Sue was a past Matron of Temple-Glen Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of Bay Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She touched the lives of many students during her time as a bus driver for Essexville Hampton Public Schools and was a bookkeeper for many years for Weber’s Trucking of Bay City. Sue loved quilting and quilted many quilts over the years. When she wasn’t quilting, she enjoyed organizing family reunions, and making maple syrup. Her children all have fond memories of time camping with her and her love for her special pet raccoon Tika. Sue loved spending time with family, and for 20 years, made special mother daughter trips with her sisters and mother.
She is survived by her two sons, Paul (Kim) Weber and Lonnie Weber; daughter-in-law, Dawn Weber; siblings, Linda (Peter) Fletcher, Kathy Gerhardt, Jean (Bob) Adamowski, and Rick Gerhardt; grandchildren, Raymond (Stephanie) Weber, Michael (Angie) Weber, Gregory (Rachel) Weber, Kyle Weber, and Lauren (Ben) Tygesen; great-grandchildren, Rainie Weber, Cole Weber, Tucker Weber, Leila Weber, Evelyn Weber, and Adeline Tygesen. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Sue was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Pobanz; and children, Raymond and Monica Weber.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, April 8, 2024, at the Hyatt-Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe St., Bay City, Michigan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Reverend Mark Montei will officiate. Interment will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery, where she will be placed with her husband Lloyed.
