Obituary of Virginia Ruth Ford
Virginia “Ginger” R. Ford of Topeka, KS passed away August 19, 2022 at the age of 81. She was born in New Mexico on December 17, 1940 to the late Osro Wilber and Monia (Petross) Randall. She was raised in New Mexico and married George Ford in September of 1961. They had 5 children, and she was always involved in her children's schools, serving as PTA President not only at the local level, but at the State and National levels as well. After her children finished high school, she returned to college where she received both her BS degree in Education and Master’s degree in Special Education. They moved to Kansas in 1992, where she taught Special Education for more than 10 years. Ginger enjoyed reading and church activities, and loved being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of almost 61 years, George Ford; 5 children, Annette Ripper, Martha (Chuck) Broomall, Carl (Danyse) Ford, Georgia Ford, and Joan (Gene) Barr; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Judy Walls and Randy (Mary) Randall. She was predeceased by 2 sons-in-law, Bryan Ripper and Mark Noblitt; and 2 grandchildren, Cole Ripper and Trent Ripper.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, September 3, 2022 at Rolling Hills Christian Church, 4530 NW Hiawatha Place, Topeka, KS 66618. The family will receive friends at church prior to the service from 10 AM – 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Topeka Rescue Mission, Rolling Hills Christian Church, or the Alzheimer's Association.
