Obituary of George Lee Tomaszewski

Tomaszewski, George Lee Bay City, MI George, age 72, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021. He was born October 11, 1949 in Bay City Michigan to the late George L. and Bertha M. (Kosik)Tomaszewski. He married the former Karen Owczarzak on August 24, 1968 at St. Hyacinth’s Catholic Church, and she survives him George was an avid reader, had volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, and enjoyed classic cars, storytelling, and Bay City history. He thoroughly enjoyed his morning coffee with his coffee klatsch companions, but more than anything he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by Karen, his wife of over 50 years; his children, George (Amy) Tomaszewski Jr., Kendra (Raymond “Scott”) Mendyk, and Blayne Tomaszewski; his 3 grandchildren, Travis Tomaszewski, and Alisyn and Karson Mendyk; 3 step-grandchildren; 1 brother; 3 sisters, 2 aunts, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his much-loved dog, “Pesh”. He was predeceased by a sister. A Funeral Service will be held at 4 PM, Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe St., Bay City, MI. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12 Noon until 4 PM. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate.
