Mark David Draves, 64, of Midland, MI passed away on Fathers Day, June 20, 2021 surrounded by loved ones after a long battle of illness.
He was born in Midland, MI on January 12,1957. Mark is the son of Milton Dale Draves and the late Sally Warder. He is survived by his two children, Mathew Draves and Emily Draves. His three grandchildren, Dylan Draves, Aidan Draves and Syncere Bell. He is also survived by his sister Laurie and her husband, Shane Sheets, nephews Nicholas and Lucas Sheets and their children, Laurie and Noah Sheets.
Mark graduated from Midland High School, the class of 1975 and quickly joined the Marines. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, Okinawa and Camp Lejeune. During that time, Mark was awarded badges as a Pistol Sharpshooter and also as a Rifle Expert as an Infantry Assaultman. He was Honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1977.
In Mark’s younger years he loved playing sports including Baseball, Softball and Golfing. He was very competitive and loved to have a good time. His favorite line was “Work hard, play hard!”
If you knew Mark, you know what a talkative person he could be. He loved telling stories of his past, reflecting on his life and mostly how proud he was to be a father. Mark will always be loved and truly missed.
