Obituary of Arthur Edgar Sanford

Sanford, Arthur Bay City, Michigan (formerly of Standish) Arthur passed away June 2, 2021 at the age of 82. He was born to the late Arthur and Margaret (Hamilton) Sanford of Davison, Michigan. As a Navy veteran, he was very proud of his service to the country, and for the foyer that he designed and had built for the church at his duty station in Adak, Alaska. Art retired as a manager of Waco manufacturing and opened up a golf shop, repairing and re-gripping clubs. He enjoyed supporting the local community by attending sporting events, especially high school sports, and also the local fish fry’s! Art was an avid and accomplished golfer and was able to get five “hole in ones” during his lifetime, the final one being in 2015 when he was 76 years old! He was an avid outdoorsman as well and loved being outside whether it was hunting, trout fishing or golfing, and was also very proud of his Irish heritage. He is survived by his children and grandchildren, Matt (Tamera, or “Tamerka” as Art liked to call her) and his children Zachary and Justin. Mark (Tammy) and their children, Kristyn, Josh, Nick, Kailee and Kyree. Jennifer (Daniel) Soper and their son Lucien; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Kathleen Olander. A Memorial Service will be held from 2-6 PM, Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe St., Bay City MI. Interment will take place at the National Cemetery in Holly Michigan.
